Use this page for proposing changes to the default skin/UI, or documenting the specifics of any changes made.

Guidelines

• If you change any files in the Wiki folder, please keep a copy of the original and rename it to "originalname_orig.ext". Ie. If the file is called 'headbg.jpg', the original backup should be called 'headbg_orig.jpg'.
• If you change anything, make sure you document it accurately here, so we don't make a mess of things and can't change it back. Editing files is riskier than editing the Wiki - there's no easy 'Revert' function.
• The style settings are all stored in 'main.css'. However, before changing anything globally you can experiment with settings via your own user style. This way you can preview and experiment without affecting everyone elses browsing experience. Instructions for User Styles can be found here. If you want to propose any radical changes, I would recommend doing it in your User Style, capture a screenshot of it, and uploading the image here (on the Talk page) for others to comment. Or just post the CSS code so others can try it for themselves.

Background header

I have renamed the header background file to headbg_orig.jpg, so currently the pages are looking for a non-existent file, hence the plain white BG now. This was the original file, in case you've forgotten. Ugly, right? Plain white is better until we design a fancier one, don't you think. Carlos 16:37, 3 August 2006 (MDT)
